The sun came out for our party
What a lovely way to spend a summers afternoon. Everyone dressed up in the most colourful Hawaiian costumes, and shared a BBQ and salads in the sun.
It was so lovely to see some of our residents families enjoying the afternoon too. It's always a real highlight for our home to see so many new faces. Thank you to everyone who came and made it such a special event.
Clean energy for Tudor Court
This month we have had a whole new solar system fitted by a local company, giving us a great boost to our clean energy goals.
We've covered the roof with panels and are looking to generate at least 60% of our energy through solar.
This is a great way to do what we can to reduce our carbon emissions as a home, and a good start for us as we look for other ways to reduce our impact on the planet.
Happy Christmas to all!
Led by Tracey, the staff team put on a panto and Christmas party for residents and families today.
Snow White and the seven dwarves led the way with the lounge being turned into our own theatre for the day. Ash the cook convinced everyone with a Snow White performance that cannot be forgotten!!
After the theatre, residents enjoyed a buffet party with family, all laid out beautifully in the conservatory.
Thank you to all the families that came along and helped to make it a day to remember.
Happy Christmas everyone!
Monday morning started off well this week with a surprise visit from our Environmental Health Officer to inspect our kitchens and make sure that we are all up to scratch with our policies, record keeping, and most importantly cleanliness.
The kitchen team of Ashley, Sam, and Richard have done a sterling job this year to make sure that everything is in place, and all recommendations have been listened to and acted on.
So we were delighted today to be able to put stickers in the front and the back of the home showing our impeccable five out of five for our food hygiene rating.
All the food that our Kitchen prepares is home-made and designed to not only fill up our residents physically but to also bring them joy.
Food is important to us all, so as we enjoy our piece of cake this afternoon at Tudor Court, we know that it’s been prepared in a top rated kitchen, by a great team.
There were more pumpkins than people at Tudor court today as our residents all took part in a carving competition, some of them having several different attempts!
We didn’t just do scary, we did funny, happy, and even lovey!
As usual, Tracey, our activities coordinator put together a great day of Halloween related fun.
Everybody joined in and made it a really special day.
